VEHICLE, VESSEL, AND MOBILE HOME Lee County Tax Collector

Many government services provided at the county level are available from either the DMV Office or the Clerk of Court - also known as the Clerk of the Circuit Court. The DMV focuses on licenses and tags for anything that you drive including cars, boats, motorcycles, trucks, RVs and more. "RP" decals are permanent and transferable to a new owner when the land and mobile home are sold as a unit. Once a mobile home title has been retired, ownership transfers are recorded on the deed of the property. The owner may re-apply for the certificate of title, if necessary, should the home be removed from the property.

The registration decal must be placed in the square space provided in the upper right-hand corner of the Florida license plate. The link below gives access to Florida Department of Revenue information regarding the taxation of mobile homes. Manufactured home owners who own both their home and the real property it sits on have the option of changing from a DMV issued title to a warranty deed. Registration fees are based on the length of the mobile home and must be renewed either annually or biennially by December 31.

MyFlorida is available on all mobile devices and allows customers to securely renew a registration on an eligible vehicle or vessel. Customers will receive a digital document to use until the registration arrives in the mail. A $4.00 processing fee is applied to each transaction for customers paying with credit card, or $3.75 for transactions paid through checking account. The Property Tax division is responsible for advising and assisting county tax officials on departmental policies, procedures, and the laws of the state of Alabama concerning the assessing and registering of manufactured homes. We also provide assistance to taxpayers and the general public concerning the policies, procedures, and laws as they pertain to manufactured homes. Customers may visit any motor vehicle service center statewide to renew their credential.

Then, the mobile home owner is to present their RP Declaration to a Tax Collector’s Service Center and purchase an RP decal for their mobile home. If you are a new Florida resident, you are required to register your vehicle within ten days and get a Florida drivers license within 30 days. If you have an out-of-state drivers license and it has not expired beyond 30 days you can convert your license without taking a written or road test. If you need a drivers license for the first time you must complete a Florida DMV approved four-hour Drug and Alcohol course and DMV test on road signs and road rules.

Manufactured Homes

To renew a registration via mobile app, the customer must provide the license plate or vehicle identification number or hull identification number for the vehicle and/or vessel they seek to register to complete the transaction. If FLHSMV is unable to verify valid insurance on the vehicle or vessel, no registration will be issued. To renew a registration online, the customer must provide personal identifying information of the owner of the vehicle and/or vessel to log in and complete the transaction. You can also contact the DMV office for specialty tags, disability parking permits, and transferring a motor vehicle or boat/vessel title.

Customers who register their vehicle in a motor vehicle office will be provided a registration the same day. Vehicles must have a valid registration to operate on Florida roads. Customers may renew their vehicle or vessel for a period of one to two years and may renew a registration up to three months in advance of the registration expiration. Vehicle or vessel registrations expire at midnight on the first owner’s birth date unless the owner is a business.

Specific clearance information for customers if there is a stop preventing registration of the vehicle or vessel. Drivers who are new to Florida must register and title their vehicle in the state of Florida within 30 days of the owner either becoming employed, placing children in public school or establishing residency in Florida.

For mobile homes affixed to land that is rented, mobile home decals will expire December 31st each year. The registration fee for mobile homes is based on the length of the mobile home. Doublewide, triple wide, or additional mobile home units require a separate registration and decal for each unit.

If the mobile home\recreational vehicle is located on private or public water and sewer, a letter must be submitted from the appropriate utility company verifying availability to the site at the time of submittal of application. Business and License

A delinquency fee will be charged if the registration is not renewed by the 10th of January. Manufactured home registration is due by October 1, and delinquent after November 30. Manufactured homeowners have 30 days after they purchase a manufactured home or 30 days after it enters into the state to register their manufactured home.

Decals are required to be displayed in a window that is clearly visible from the road located in front of the home. The background color issued for an annual or biennial decal will change each year it is renewed. Renew online and then pick up at any of our four service centers. Mobile Home registration and decal renewals may be conducted online, by mail, or at one of the Tax Collector’s Service Centers. Florida law requires mobile home decals and registrations to be renewed before they expire on December 31st.

A final inspection must be requested when the mobile home\recreational vehicle is tied down and all pertinent sub work has been completed and inspected. Customers using MyDMV Portal will receive their registration in the mail within 7-10 business days from the transaction. Customers can receive an emailed confirmation receipt that can be used until the registration arrives in the mail. On the payment confirmation page customers must select ‘yes’, enter an email address, and click ‘Send Email Confirmation’ for the information to be emailed.
